Don’t Miss is free to use, but Google Calendar connection isn’t instant sign-in. You’ll need to create your own Google OAuth desktop client first.

Download the DMG, open it, and drag Don’t Miss into the Applications folder. Then eject the disk image and open the app from Applications. Requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon.
Bring your Google credentials.
Enable the Google Calendar API in your Google Cloud project, configure consent, and create a Desktop app OAuth client. Import its JSON in Settings.
Choose what deserves a heads-up.
Connect your accounts, grant read-only calendar permissions, and choose calendars. Set your lead time. Run at startup is enabled by default after installing in Applications; you can turn it off in Settings.

Is it really free?
Yes. Don’t Miss is free and open source under the MIT license. No subscription, trial timer, or paid tier. Browse the source, report an issue, or make it your own on GitHub.
Which Macs and calendars are supported?
Release builds support Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Don’t Miss connects to Google Calendar, including multiple accounts with independent calendar selection. You’ll need your own OAuth desktop client; see the setup guide. Google OAuth apps in Testing mode may require reconnecting every seven days.
What happens to my calendar data?
Calendar access is read-only: Don’t Miss doesn’t create or edit events. OAuth credentials stay in macOS Keychain, and seven days of events are cached locally for reminders. Per-event reminder preferences also stay local.
When you open event details, physical location text may be sent to Apple for a Maps lookup. This requires internet access and does not use your device’s location. Check the returned place before traveling.
Will it remind me when my Mac is asleep?
No. Keep Don’t Miss running and your Mac awake and unlocked: it cannot alert while the Mac is asleep or at the lock screen. Cached events can still trigger reminders offline. All-day and declined events are skipped.
How do updates work?
Official releases are signed and notarized. Sparkle checks for signed updates daily while the app is running, and installation always needs your approval. You can also use Check for Updates or turn off automatic checks in Settings.
